A section of Thompson Mill Road near Buford will be closed until the middle of next month for some bridge work
"The bridge that carries Thompson Mill Road over Interstate 985 (I-985) will close from June 1, 2018, until July 15, 2018, for rehabilitation efforts," according to a news release from the state Department of Transportation. "This rehabilitation will also raise the bridge structure to a minimum vertical clearance of 17'. The roadway will also be adjusted to match the new bridge elevation. Repairs to the driving surface will also be performed during this rehab work."
Traffic wishing to travel west on Thompson Mill Road towards Buford will be redirected to North Bogan Road, then Hamilton Mill Road, then State Route 13. Traffic traveling East along Thompson Mill Road will use State Route 13, Hamilton Mill Road and North Bogan Road.
