Five arrested for trafficking 100K worth of meth in Hall County

Five suspects were taken into custody Thursday, accused of trafficking more than $100,000 worth of methamphetamine in Hall County.

Agents with the Hall County Multi-Agency Narcotics Squad searched a home on Campus Pointe Circle in the Gainesville area Thursday, where they found more than a pound of methamphetamine, a pistol, drug paraphernalia and $1,400 cash, said Lt. Don Scalia.

The home belongs to Chris Lee Dilbeck, 47, and Melissa Ann Dilbeck, 46, a husband and wife who are now charged with trafficking methamphetamine and possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute.

Chris Dilbeck is also charged with possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.

Also arrested at the home were Robbie Louise Gabriel, 32, of Gainesville, Vera Lou Bateman, 48, of Talmo and James Kerry Towe of Jefferson.

Bateman is charged with trafficking methamphetamine, while Gabriel is charged with conspiracy to traffic methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute and possession of methamphetamine.

Towe is charged with criminal attempt to traffic meth.

All five were taken into custody without incident and booked into the Hall County Jail.
