Six students from Gainesville High School have been selected as finalists for the this year's Governor's Honors Program.

GHP is a highly selective program in which only one half of one percent of all eligible Georgia students are accepted.

The students who will represent GHS in their specific areas of study are Catherine Cook (Visual Arts), Anne Dye (Science), Emma Fockele (Communicative Arts), Anna Newkirk (Communicative Arts), Mark Toth (Music), and Grayson Wagner (Mathematics).  They will attend Berry College in Rome in June along with other GHP finalists across the state.

The four-week summer program offers intensive instruction within a college setting for gifted and talented rising high school juniors and seniors.
