Several key region games involving northeast Georgia teams have been postponed until Tuesday due to a series of weather conditions rolling through the area on Monday.

Gainesville, Buford, North Hall, Jefferson, and Union County among many pushed back crucial matchups in order to take advantage of less severe conditions on Tuesday.

High winds and cold temperatures dominated Monday's conditions and many fields were still trying to drain from Sunday's thunderstorms.

"It's a combination of things," North Hall coach Trevor Flow said. "Our field is not completely dry, the wind will be 19 mph, and it will 20 degrees colder (Monday) than (Tuesday) at the same time."

Gainesville, Buford, North Hall, and Jefferson all were playing host to huge impactful games and were either tied or in first place alone atop their respective regions. The Red Elephants will take on Apalachee, Buford plays Loganville, North Hall is taking on Dawson County, and Jefferson is playing Madison County. Union County is taking on East Hall in Blairsville as the Vikings fight for a playoff spot.

All games are scheduled for 5:55 p.m. first pitches.
