A female juvenile is dead and another is in custody at the regional youth detention center for an alleged homicide Thursday at a Barrow County home.
Deputies were called to the scene on East Midland Avenue in the Winder area around 1:30 p.m., where they discovered the girl's body inside a bedroom at the home, said Barrow County Sheriff's Capt. Cory Almond in a statement.
Deputies got a tip that the male suspect ran from the scene, and subsequently launched a search.
The suspect was taken into custody approximately 45 minutes later, and booked into the regional youth detention center.
Both parties are teenagers, according to Sheriff Jud Smith, and due to their ages, their identities will not be released.
