GDOT interstate work begins overnight on I-85, closes lanes

The Georgia Department of Transportation plans to begin work on I-85 that will impact late night traffic over the next couple of weeks.
 
Beginning Sunday, April 8, at 10 p.m. Pittman Construction company will begin resurfacing the entrance and exit ramps of Interstate 85 at State Route 11/ US 129.

According to a media release the work will continue nightly from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. Sunday through Friday and should be completed by April 20th. Officials said traffic will be able exit the interstate at the State Route 53 and State Route 98 interchanges. 
 
And on Monday night, April 9th, at 9:00 p.m. a restriping project will close lanes overnight along Interstate 85. 

This project spans 11 miles beginning at Jimmy Carter Boulevard and continues to Old Peachtree Road; GDOT says to expect lane closures from 9 p.m.to 5 a.m. each night. 

This project will be completed - weather-permitting - by May 31st.
