With the retirement of longtime Communications and Tourism Director Catiel Felts coming up at the end of May, the city has named Nikki Perry to assume the post.
Perry, who comes to Gainesville from the City of Lilburn where she served as Public Relations Director since 2012, is already on the job in Gainesville, shadowing Felts for the next two months. Prior to her work in Lilburn, Perry was the Public Information Officer for Hall County Government. She also has been a reporter at The Times of Gainesville and was editor of The Paper in Braselton.
"Nikki's previous government communications experience at Hall County and the City of Lilburn made her the perfect candidate for this position," said Gainesville City Manager Bryan Lackey. "She has worked in and around Gainesville for the majority of her career, beginning at The Times, so she will be a familiar face to many city residents."
Perry is married to Jeremy Perry, the Chief Financial Officer for the City of Gainesville. They have three children and live in Flowery Branch.
