James Harrison "Jim" Lancaster, a former Battalion Chief for Hall County Fire Services, died Thursday.

While Lancaster spent 30 years working with the fire department, he might have been better known as the man who was responsible for orchestrating the annual Fourth of July fireworks show for the Paul E. Bolding Post of the American Legion in Gainesville.

Lancaster, a Hall County native, was a U.S. Navy veteran, who served the Gainesville legion post as Chairman of Trustees for a time.

Funeral services for Jim Lancaster are scheduled for Tuesday, April 3 at 2 p.m. at Memorial Park Funeral Home.
