Golf: Gainesville boys place two teams in top 5 at Warrior Invitational

The Gainesville boys golf team placed two teams in the top five for the second time in a tournament this season this weekend when the Red Elephants competed in the Warrior Invitational.

Led by tournament Low Medalist Ryan Hogan’s 69, Gainesville's Red team (292) finished two strokes behind tournament champion Mt. Bethel. Other counting scores were Davis Weaver (71), and Zayne Hilderbrand and AD Winston (76). 

The White team finished fifth led by Sam Patterson’s 74 and Brody Simmons’ 76 in the 34-team field. 

The JV team finished in the top 5 in the JV division. 

The varsity record is now 83-2 this season against all opponents with two tournament victories and two runner-up finishes.
