The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will no longer accept cash at twelve day-use parks and boat ramps on Lake Lanier starting April 1.

Automated credit card machines are being installed at those sites and the familiar brown "cash boxes" are being removed.

The twelve locations are Buford Dam Park, Burton Mill, Keith's Bridge, Lanier Park, Little Hall, Long Hollow, Lower Pool East, Lower Pool West, Old Federal Day Use, Two Mile, Van Pugh North and West Bank.

According to a news release from the Corps, fees will remain the same but the only means of payment will be debit or credit cards.
