*The Hall County Farmers' Market will open for the season on May 8 at 2:30.

*The Georgia Water Coalition recently recognized water heroes from across the state ranging from multi-national corporations to small sustainable farmers for their "extraordinary work" to protect Georgia’s water.  Included were Ladybug Farms of Rabun County and Storm Water Systems of White County.

*Doug Collins (R-Ga.) announces that his office will begin accepting applications for the 2018 Congressional Art Competition. All Ninth District students in grades 9-12 are invited to submit their art pieces, which are due to the Gainesville office by 5:00 p.m. on April 27. *Bill Rothe has been appointed as Head of the Middle School at Rabun Gap-Nacoochee School effective July 1.  Since 2014, Rothe has served as the Head of the Middle School at St. John’s Country Day School in Jacksonville, Florida.

*The winning photographs in this year's Snap Suwanee Photo Contest – chosen out of nearly 60 entries – will be on display at Suwanee City Hall through February 2019, and will be recognized at the April Suwanee City Council meeting.

*John Bush, Jr., has been chosen the 2018 Mr. Gainesville High School.  First runner-up is Rentavious Buffington.
