Former Hall County Juvenile Court judge David Fox dies at age 70

David Fox, a longtime Gainesville attorney and a former Hall County Juvenile Court judge, died unexpectedly Monday. 

Fox, a native Atlantan, earned degrees from the University of Georgia and the National College of Juvenile and Family Law, according to information on the website of his firm - Fox, Chandler, Homans, Hicks & McKinnon. 

Fox was admitted to the bar in 1973 and was admitted to practice before both the Supreme Court of Georgia and the Supreme Court of Florida, as well as the U.S. Court of Appeals, 5th Circuit, and the U.S. Court of Appeals, 11th Circuit.

Prior to serving as a judge for the Hall County Juvenile Court from 1986 to 1990, Fox was a Special Assistant Attorney General for the State of Georgia from 1980 to 1986. 

Fox was 70-years-old.

A celebration of life service for David Fox is scheduled for 2 p.m., Friday, March 2 in the sanctuary of Gainesville First United Methodist Church on Thompson Bridge Road. 

Memorial Park North Riverside Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
