HOMER — Banks County School System officials say they are aware of recent social media posts indicating some type of planned attacked at Banks County High School and, while an investigation by school system and Banks County Sheriff’s Office personnel is underway, no credible threat has been determined at this time.

Still, system officials and law enforcement are taking the matter very seriously.

“In light of the recent tragedy in Florida, and to ensure the safety of our schools, we have increase the police presence in our school district,” according to a statement by system officials. “We will continue to be vigilant and take all threats seriously as we work with the proper authorities to ensure the safety of our students and employees.”
