*Mount Vernon and Chestnut Mountain schools will hold a math competition, "Math Mania," on March 3 for the county's elementary schools.  Check with individual schools for more details.

*Braselton’s town manager and clerk, Jennifer Scott, has been elected to serve as a district director for the Georgia Municipal Clerks and Finance Officers Association for this year.

*Piedmont College President James Mellichamp will present a recital concert at 4 p.m., Sunday, February 25, in the Piedmont College Chapel on the Demorest campus.

*Rabun Gap-Nacoochee School will be the host site for an international culinary summer camp this year affiliated with the FOX TV show MasterChef Junior. For more information, visit www.campmasterchef.com.

*The Gwinnett County Police Department is accepting applications for its upcoming Citizens Police Academy, scheduled March 20-May 10.  Applications will need to be submitted to Sgt. Perkins or Sgt. *Providence Christian Academy's High School Drama Department's spring production is "All Shook Up," a play that was inspired by and features the songs of Elvis Presley.  It will be staged March 8 at 7 pm, March 9 at 7 pm, and March 10 at 2 pm & 7 pm at the Buford Community Theatre.
