Agents with the Appalachian Regional Drug Enforcement Office recently made what they are calling a sizable drug bust in Commerce.

Special Agent in Charge Mitchell Posey told AccessWDUN that authorities arrested Nikki Nelson Allen, 35, of Commerce.

Posey said Allen initially had an outstanding arrest warrant for marijuana distribution.  When agents arrived at his home, Posey said it reeked of more marijuana.

"Based on the odor of marijuana and the statements made by Allen that there was more marijuana in the residence, a search warrant was secured for the residence," Posey said.

Authorities seized more than five pounds of marijuana, marijuana extract known as butane honey oil and $7,462 cash.

Posey estimated the street value of the drugs at $27,500.

Allen is charged with possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute and possession of schedule 1 BHO with intent to distribute.

The Jackson County Sheriff's Office and Banks County Sheriff's Office were also involved in serving Monday's arrest warrant at 51 Kensington Court.

Allen was booked into the Jackson County Detention Center.
