Baseball: Chestatee stays hot; Lakeview dominates; Trojans fall

GAINESVILLE — Chestatee baseball continued its storming start to the season on Tuesday, sprinting past Lumpkin County 10-0 in Gainesville.

Will Cantrell earned the win for the War Eagles (4-0) on the mound, while Cooper Wilson also pitched 5 innings, while yielding just 1 hit and striking out 4 batters.

Joe Sutton helped pace Chestatee at the plate, producing 3 hits and 3 RBI, while Caleb Carter also had 3 hits and 2 RBI. Benson Miller also had 3 hits, and Wilson drove in 2 runs.
 

LAKEVIEW 15,
RIVERSIDE 0

The Lions (2-0) exploded for 10 runs in the fourth inning to close out a dominant win on Tuesday in Gainesville. 

Evan Gravitt pitched all 4 innings to earn the win for Lakeview, allowing 1 hit while striking out 4 batters. 

Sam Stewart helped lead the Lions' onslaught at the plate, going 3 for 4 with 4 RBI, a two-run home run, double and 3 runs scored. Campbell Melson also went 2 for 3 with 2 RBI, and Skyler Thellman produced a double and 4 RBI. JD Roark had 2 runs scored and 2 RBI. Andrew Estes scored 2 runs. And Ian Echols scored 2 runs.

Lakeview plays host to White County at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday in Gainesville. 


GEORGE WALTON 5,
NORTH HALL 3

The Bulldogs scored three runs in the top of the sixth to grab the win on Tuesday in Gainesville.

The Trojans (1-1) out-hit George Walton 7-5 in the loss, including a 2 for 4 performance from Caleb Clark, who also scored a run and produced a double. Reese Olson had a double, and David Seavey had a hit and scored a run.

North Hall left eight runners on base, while George Walton stranded seven.
