The Hall County Commission is set to hear rezoning requests for a chicken processing plant and nearly 200-lot subdivision at its Thursday voting session.
The processing plant would occupy an existing building on Memorial Park Drive between Old Flowery Branch Road and Industrial Drive. Hall County Planning Director Srikanth Yamala said Cooley Enterprises, LLC are not planning to build any additional buildings on the property or expand the current facility, but are asking for a conditional use to further process chicken parts that have already gone through some processing.
The age restricted neighborhood is being proposed on a 72-acre plot of land on Stephens Road just north of Flat Creek Road near Oakwood. The applicant, CalAtlantic Group, Inc, wants the land zoned as Planned Residential Development to develop the 194 lots.
Those items will be discussed and voted on Thursday along with requests for a pair of six-lot subdivisions, one on L.J. Martin Drive and one on Eberhardt Cemetery Road.
