Boys basketball: Cooper eclipses 1,000 for his career in East Hall win

RABBITTOWN — Luke Cooper eclipsed the 1,000 career point mark, as the East Hall boys basketball team defeated Fannin County 91-65 on Friday in Rabbittown.

Cooper finished with 13 for the game, while Luke Holtzclaw scored 18 points, including 15 in the third quarter, to pace the Vikings (15-10, 10-2 Region 7-AAA). Jayvion Rucker also added 13 points in the win.

East Hall exploded for 30 points in the third quarter to put the game away the score after leading 42-31 at the half.

The Vikings play Fannin County at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in 7-AAA tournament at East Hall for the right to go to the state tournament.
