Flowery Branch city officials presented the city council with a proposed movie ordinance at the council's Thursday meeting.
The ordinance, if approved, would require film companies to purchase a $100 permit and pay a $100 fee per day to film in the city. It also requires those filming to be insured.
"We don't have anything on the books," City Planning Director Rich Atkinson said after the meeting. "So if you were going to come in to film, we really wouldn't have an answer to that."
The proposed ordinance comes less than a year after Hall County passed a motion picture ordinance. Atkinson said Flowery Branch's proposed ordinance would be similar.
"It's basically the same thing," Atkinson said. "It's just having that permit on the books and that requirement, so when they come in you can have it permitted, you know who's doing the work, you know they're insured and the city's just aware of what's going on."
The Flowery Branch City Council will vote on the ordinance at a later meeting.
