A Flowery Branch woman asked Georgia veterans to attend her later father's celebration of life Saturday and they responded in droves.

Candace Easton told Fox 5 News she was concerned with having little family, her father Cornelius Cornelssen, who died December 14th, would not have much of a service.

"I just can't believe how many people are showing love," Easton said. "The love between people is miraculous and incredible."

More the 100 veterans from across the state showed up to the service.

Cornelssen fought at the Battle of the Bulge and earned a bronze star and two Purple Heart medals. He passed away December, 19.
