Hall County undercover agents have arrested two women on prositution charges.
Lt. Don Scalia of the Hall County Multi Agency Narcotics Squad (MANS) said he sent officers Wednesday night to investigate two businesses for reported illegal activity - one on John Morrow Parkway and the other on Atlanta Highway.
"We've been to both of them, actually, in the past," Scalia said. "This is the first arrests we've made on both these individuals, though."
Scalia said Jean Ann Medina, 64, of Ray City, Ga. was arrested at a business in the 1700 block of Atlanta Highway. She was charged with prostitution and masturbation for hire. Li Ying Wang, 55, of Atlanta was arrested at a business in the 200 block of John Morrow Parkway on charges of keeping a place of prostitution and masturbation for hirie. Both women had bonded out of jail by Thursday morning, according to Scalia.
The decision to visit these two particular businesses was made after Scalia said he fielded complaints.
"I fielded probably a half a dozen or so complaints in the last couple of weeks on both these locations, so I decided to let my guys go ahead and do an undercover operation at both locations," Scalia said. "They went in and acted as 'customers' and were offered services beyond what a normal massage would be."
Scalia said it's not uncommon for massage parlors to change the names of the businesses from time to time, and he thinks both of these businesses had recently done so.
