CHATTANOOGA — The North Hall wrestling team could not hang on to a Day 1 lead Saturday on the final day at the McCallie Invitational wrestling tournament hosted by The McCallie School.
Woodland overcame a slim North Hall lead to win the two-day event with a final tally of 290.5 points. North Hall finished with 271.5 points, holding off Cleveland, Tenn. (266.5) which took third in the 31-team field.
North Hall led after Day 1 with 133 points to Woodland's 128.5 but could not hold off the Tennessee wrestling power.
Logan Hawthorne at 195-pounds was the lone North Hall champion. Matt Glenn (126) finished second and suffered his first loss of the season. Jacob Pedraza (120) and Bowie Eisenberg (285) also finished second for the Trojans.
