It was a tale of two halves for the Lady Bears Thursday night against GAC.
Cherokee Bluff exploded out of the gate in the first half, taking a two-point lead into the locker room.
"We couldn't have asked for a better first half," coach Lindsay Justice said. "We executed well initially and hit some shots to get momentum going."
But, early foul trouble took Madi Phillips out of the game in the third quarter, which allowed GAC to go up by five points at the end of the third.
GAC shifted its game plan in the fourth.
"GAC began stalling the ball multiple possessions," Justice said. "We had to change our defensive game plan in the fourth. We just wore down."
Timber Gaither led the Lady Bears with 15 points.
Cherokee Bluff (4-2, 0-1) will travel to Lumpkin County Tuesday. Game time is 6 p.m.
