A Hall County family escaped a burning home early Monday morning, but a family pet died in the fire, according to Hall County Fire Services officials.

Capt. Zachary Brackett said the fire was reported around 5 a.m. on Titshaw Drive.

"Arriving units found a single wide mobile home 50% involved with fire. The fire was quickly extinguished utilizing an interior attack," Brackett wrote in an email. "One canine is deceased due to this incident. Three occupants were displaced and will be staying with family."

Brackett said the cause of the fire is under investigation.

The Gainesville Fire Department also responded to the scene.
