BOYS BASKETBALL: Lakeview, Jefferson, Bluff, West Hall fall in close games; Dawson wins

COAL MOUNTAIN — Adam Cottrell and Arturo Varela scored 21 points each to lead the Lakeview Lions in a 66-65 loss to Drew Charter School Monday night in a tournament at North Forsyth.

Varela nabbed 7 rebounds and Cottrell picked 5 boards.

Blake McIntyre added 16 points.

The Lions will play North Forsyth Tuesday at North Forsyth. Game time set for 5 p.m.

 

MOUNTAIN VIEW 60
JEFFERSON 52 

Kam Robinson scored 17 points in the Dragons loss to Mountain View Monday in a tournament at Jefferson.

Donsha Gaither netted 11 points in the loss.

Jefferson will play Cambridge Tuesday at home. Game time is 4:30 p.m.

 

DENMARK 94
CHEROKEE BLUFF 86

Despite Griffin Neville’s 36-point second half, Cherokee Bluff fell to Denmark Monday at home.

Neville finished the night with a game-high 39 points.

Bosko Norman had 18 points and Palmer Weaver tossed in 14 points. 

The Bears (1-1) will play at Monroe Area on Nov. 27. Game time is 7:30 p.m.

 

MADISON COUNTY 62
WEST HALL 61

Madison County nailed two foul shots with less than one second left in the game to beat West Hall Monday night in a tournament at East Jackson.

Sawyer Passmore led the Spartans with 24 points, and Noah Edmondson scored 19.

The Spartans (0-3) will play at Riverside Nov. 27. Game time is set for 6 p.m.

 

DAWSON COUNTY 72
LANDMARK CHRISTIAN 46

Luke Chism scored 22 points and Eli Burris had 19 to lead the Dawson County Tigers past Landmark Christian 72-49 Monday night in the Tiger Tip-off Classic at the Ford Phillips Center in Dawsonville.
Jasper Gibson has 12 points.
