ELLENWOOD — North Hall football saw its historic season come to and end on Friday -- but the Trojans left Cedar Grove with some moments to ponder after scoring 22 fourth quarter points in a 49-33 loss.

Turnovers got the better of North Hall early, as the Trojans (9-3) fumbled the ball away three times, helping the No. 2-ranked Saints (11-1) to a 13-0 advantage inside four minutes of play.

North Hall finished with five giveaways -- though Daniel Jackson picked off a Cedar Grove pass in the first quarter to set up the Trojans' first score, a 22-yard field goal.

It proved the only offensive success of the first half, however, as the Trojans -- fresh off their first-ever road state playoff win -- fell behind 35-3 at the half.

North Hall was not about to let that be the lasting memory of 2018, however, and the Trojans charged into the second half, as Jackson ripped off a 70-yard touchdown run. JT Fair also put up two touchdowns and Drew Faulkner one, as North Hall recovered two onside kicks and even had the Saints reeling after turning to the bench early in the third quarter.

Jackson finished his final game with North Hall with 134 yards rushing on seven carries, part of 257 yards rushing on the night. And North Hall out-scored Cedar Grove 30-14 in the second half.

Cedar Grove rolled up 419 total yards -- including 278 rushing.

North Hall's season is now complete.

North Hall's Daniel Jackson runs for a gain in a game played earlier this season.
