*Truett McConnell University Senior Professor of English Dr. Walton Young has a new book in the works.  "Kinsman of the Gun" is scheduled for release next spring and will be the second in the current fictional western trilogy he is writing.   

*The White County Republican Party meets Monday, Nov. 12, at 6:30 in the Nix Student Center at Truett McConnell University.  Guest speaker will be WWII veteran Andy Negra, 94, who took part in the D-Day invasion of France.  There will also be a recap of the midterm election results for White County and the 9th Congressional District.  RSVP to Rebecca Yardley at [email protected] or at 770-572-1198 if you plan to attend.  The public is invited.

*Friends of the Braselton-West Jackson Library's next luncheon and book signing will feature national security expert and retired Brigadier General Anthony Tata, author of “Dark Winter.”  The event will be held the November 19 at 11:30 in the Community Room of the Braselton Police and Municipal Court building.  The public is invited to attend. *Forsyth County is holding an open house from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 14, at the Forsyth County Administration Building (Suite 220) for residents to see and comment on the progress of proposed residential design standards for the southeast portion of the county.
