Edith S. Chambers, a prominent Gainesville businesswoman, died Tuesday.
Chambers was a bookkeeper, buyer, and general manager of Gem Jewelry from 1946 until 1999. She was also partner/owner of Gem Wholesale Inc., part owner and President of Brides Showcase, and partner /owner of radio station WLBA.
In addition, Chambers was one of the first Pink lady volunteers for the old Hall County Hospital (now Northeast Georgia Medical Center.)
The funeral will be Nov. 10 at Ward's Funeral Home at 10:30.
