Early-morning wreck in Homer injures two people

The Georgia State Patrol is continuing its investigation of a two-vehicle wreck that hurt two people in Homer early Monday.

The wreck happened just before 7:30 a.m. on U.S. 441/Ga. 15 at Thompson Street.

Upon the arrival of Banks County Fire/EMS personnel, they found a two-vehicle wreck with one person injured in each vehicle, according to Fire/EMS Chief Steve Nichols.

One of the vehicles was broken in half during the collision.

One person was taken by ambulance to Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville, while the other was taken to Piedmont Athens Regional Medical Center in Athens.

“Both were transported with non-life-threatening injuries,” Nichols said.
