CLEVELAND — The Lanier Christian Academy volleyball team fell in the championship match of the GICAA state tournament Saturday at Truett McConnell.
The Lightning began the day with a three-set sweep of Central Georgia Arts and Athletics (25-19, 25-22, 25-16) to advance to the finals. However, they fell to Konos in four sets, 25-23, 25-2 24-26, 25-14.
Julia Sprague had a big day offensively with 14 kills and 9 aces while freshman Reagin Clack defended the court with 27 digs. Freshman Ashlyn Browning was a strong force at the net with 11 kills and 6 blocks. Senior Maddie Basile (12 kills and 13 digs) and freshman Brianna Moore (24 assists, 8 kills, and 6 digs) both having strong showings.
LCA finished its season with a 20-16 record.
