Are you a veteran who owns a small business? Do you want to do business with the Georgia Department of Transportation? GDOT has opportunities across the state for service providers to participate in a variety of transportation-related routine maintenance projects.

“Georgia DOT wants to do business with small businesses,” said Georgia DOT Director of Equal Employment Opportunity Kimberly King. “That’s why we’re traveling across Georgia to reach out to small business owners and disadvantaged business enterprises (DBEs) about the routine maintenance projects planned in their districts. We will discuss the projects, how to become qualified to participate as a vendor, how to register for notifications about opportunities and a lot more.”

The GDOT State Supported Funding Program will be in Gainesville Nov. 7 for a breakfast honoring veterans.  During this event, attendees will learn about the certification process, as well as the resources and opportunities available to veteran-owned small businesses. Participants will have an opportunity to meet GDOT's EEO District Officer and the GDOT District Engineer. A light breakfast will be served.

It will be held at the GDOT District 1 Office, 1475 Jesse Jewell Pkwy., Suite 100, 10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m.  There is no charge for DBEs, Small Businesses, and veteran-owned small businesses

Qualifying for Routine Maintenance opportunities requires registering with the Georgia Department of Administrative Services as a Sourcing Bidder. At this session, participants will learn about available projects and the process to become eligible to apply for Routine Maintenance Projects with GDOT; how to develop strategies for a winning bid; bonding and insurance resources; and supportive services available to Disadvantaged Business Enterprises, small businesses, and veteran-owned small businesses.
