Flowery Branch officials on Tuesday announced the times and locations of two public meetings to discuss potential changes with one of the railroad crossings in the downtown area.
Both meetings will be held Oct. 25 — one at 9 a.m. and one at 6 p.m. — at City Hall to discuss possible changes to the crossing at Chattahoochee Street.
Norfolk Southern, which operates the rail line, is looking for solutions for its engineers, who had apparently been breaking company policy to avoid blocking all the crossings in Downtown Flowery Branch whenever trains had to stop and let another train pass in the opposite direction.
Both meetings will be held at Flowery Branch City Hall, located on West Pine Street.
A traffic engineer from Clark, Patterson & Lee will be on hand to answer questions from the community.
