Police in Indiana have released the details of a single-vehicle crash that killed a Gainesville man on Sept. 27.

Roger Lee Cole, 65, was the only person inside a tractor trailer when its load apparently shifted, causing the truck to overturn as he was making his way onto I-65 from I-265 in Clark County, Indiana, located on the Kentucky border in the southeast part of the state.

The truck, with a flat bed trailer, was carrying steel coils, according to Sgt. Carey Huls with Indiana State Police.

"We did have witnesses to the crash that were behind [it], so that information, naturally, was used in the investigation as to the cause of the crash," which remains under investigation, said Huls.

Cole was pronounced dead at the scene. He worked for Pilgrim Trucking in Cleveland, according to his obituary by Memorial Park Funeral Home.

He leaves behind a wife, two sons and eight grandchildren.
