ATHENS — Flowery Branch held Cedar Shoals to just 14 first half points en route to taking a big 62-47 Region 8-AAAAA victory at home on Saturday.
The Falcons (14-9, 5-5 Region 8-AAAAA) moved into fourth place in the region standings with the win.
Lutumba Patsheko led the Falcons with 16 points. Justin Quick added 15 points, 5 rebounds, and 7 assists, Blake Coxworth had 8 points, 4 rebounds, and 6and JJ Greene added 7 points and 5 rebounds for Flowery Branch.

The War Eagles (6-18) snapped a four-game losing streak with a solid road victory.
Cooper Wilson poured in 18 points and Cameron Gwynn added 11 points for the War Eagles. Jarrett Gray had 10 points and Donovan Hernandez dished out 8 assists for Chestatee.

Gainesville continued its torrid run with a rout of the Wildcats on the road in Region 8-AAAAAA action.
It was the 13th consecutive victory for the Red Elephants (16-6, 8-0 Region 8-AAAAAA) and also clinched the No. 1 seed and a berth in the state playoffs.
Xavier Bledson poured in 21 points off the bench to lead Gainesville. KJ Buffen added 16 points, KajJan Hale 12 points, and Griffin Neville 10 points for the Red Elephants.
Gainesville next will travel to Winder-Barrow on Tuesday.
