The International Production & Processing Expo, better known to most north Georgians as simply "the poultry convention," returns to Atlanta Tuesday for a three-day run.

It's billed as the world's largest annual poultry, meat and feed industry event of its kind.

Last year's IPPE featured more than 8,018 international visitors from over 129 countries.  Mexico and Latin American/Caribbean countries represent the largest region of international visitors, but there has been continued growth in numbers coming from Europe, according to the IPPE Website. Canada represents the largest single country outside the U.S. in terms of the number of attendees.

Again this year, the northeast Georgia poultry industry will be represented by a number of companies participating as exhibitors and by hundreds of people associated with the industry.
