CLEVELAND — The City of Cleveland has issued a Boil Water Advisory for customers in three areas of its service area due to a water main break.

A notice from Andrea Smith, water distribution operator for the City of Cleveland Public Works, states the advisory affects water customers located in the area of Wild Turkey Trail, Shepherd Drive, and Cottage Creek Lane. Stoddard Drive is in the vicinity, but that line is not active.

According to Smith, the notice is required by the Georgia Environmental Protection Division when water pressure drops below 20 PSI (pounds per square inch).

The Boil Water Advisory is for any water to be consumed. Bottled water may be used until bacteriological samples can be collected and tested. Water for drinking should be boiled until the city lifts the advisory.

Customers in three areas of Cleveland's water service area are included in a Boil Water Advisory until further notice.
