Lumpkin County Sheriff's Office officials confirm an accident on South Chestatee Street in Dahlonega was fatal.
Lt. Alan Roach said in an email statement the accident near the Pizza Hut has been turned over to the Georgia State Patrol.
He did not indicate how many vehicles or how many people were involved or killed. He said in the email that the "specifics have not been made available at this time beyond that."
