NGHS closes on Sherwood Plaza property

Posted 2:10PM on Wednesday 20th September 2017 ( 6 years ago )

The Sherwood Plaza shopping center on South Enota Drive in Gainesville is one step closer to becoming part of the Northeast Georgia Health System.

Sean Couch, spokesman for Northeast Georgia Health System, said in an email that they closed on the property September 7. He said they were still working through lease terms with tenants, "through appropriate agents, to produce a smooth transition for all involved."

However, there are still no final plans for the property yet.

The shopping center was previously home to a Food Lion grocery store and generated a lot of talk locally after the store closed in September 2016. Multiple businesses still occupy the space, including three restaurants.
