Lyles leads Chestatee offensive explosion in win over Lumpkin

GAINESVILLE — Nick Lyles had yet another dominant night -- and Chestatee football reaped the benefits on Friday.

Lyles rushed 25 times for 208 yards and five touchdowns as the War Eagles stormed past Lumpkin County 60-32 in Gainesville.

Chestatee quarterback Storm Yarbrough also rushed 12 times for 76 yards, while Christian Charles carried twice for 49 yards and a score. Jacob Goodall also hauled in five passes for 59 yards.

Micah Flanagan led the War Eagles (3-2) on defense, racking up 6 solo tackles, 9 assists and 2 tackles for loss. Charles Jackson also had 4 solo stops, an assist and an interception.

Chestatee will travel to Habersham Central next week in a non-region contest.

Lumpkin County travels to face East Hall in Region 7-AAA next week.
