The Lake Lanier Association is hosting the 29th Annual Shore Sweep on Saturday, September 23.

Twelve locations on the lake are participating this year including: Balus Creek and Big Creek Boat ramps, Aqualand, Bald Ridge, Gainesville, and Port Royale marinas, Lanier Islands, Lake Lanier Olympic Center, and Don Carter, Gwinnett, Longwood, and War Hill parks.

The event will take place from 8:00-1:00. Volunteers need to report to a participating location to pick up trash bags and a shore line area assignment for trash collection. All volunteers turning in at least one full bag of trash receive a t-shirt.

Advance registration for the event is not required, but organizers say it does help them in scheduling shoreline coverage.  Advance notifications can be made by email to [email protected].
