A Franklin County couple is facing charges after drug agents busted a methamphetamine ring totaling $23,100.

William Jerry Fain, 53, and his wife Angela Terri Fain, 46, were allegedly trafficking the drug in Hart, Elbert and Franklin counties, and based their operation out of their home on Meadow Brooke Drive in Royston, according to Mitchell Posey, Special Agent in Charge with the Appalachian Regional Drug Enforcement Office (ARDEO).

"Deputies found 210 grams of methamphetamine, two digital scales with methamphetamine residue, and a methamphetamine pipe in the bathroom" when they searched the home, said Posey in a statement.

Both suspects were charged with trafficking methamphetamine and possession of drug related objects. They were arrested Aug. 23.

The Department of Family and Children Services was also called to the scene to take custody of a six-year-old at the home.

"Communication, cooperation and information sharing between the different agencies was the key element to dismantling this trafficking ring," said Posey.

Both suspects are being held at the Franklin County Detention Center.
