Anyone looking to make a little extra cash this fall might want to consider being a poll worker for the municipal election.
Suwanee is in need of poll workers, and Hall County is still accepting applications, officials confirmed.
In Suwanee, poll workers can expect to make $13 per hour during the three weeks of early voting, and then $100-225 per day on election day, Nov. 7, according to a press statement posted on social media. Hall County workers can make between $8 and $15 per hour, depending on responsibilities and experience, said Dr. Tom Smiley, Hall County Elections Board Chairman.
Early voting hours run from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day, and election day runs from 6 a.m. until closing procedures are completed.
In Hall County, elections officials said they have enough poll workers for the upcoming election, but they're always accepting new applications to create a larger pool of contacts.
To be a poll worker in Suwanee, applicants must fill out the official application, and must be: a U.S. citizen, 16 years of age or older and able to read and write English.
Applicants cannot be related to a candidate on the ballot, and if they've been convicted of a felony, they must be 10 years removed from the completion of the sentence.
