One suspect is behind bars and another remains on the loose for a fatal shooting in April in Midtown Gainesville, an incident Gainesville Police now consider a murder.
Tadrick Terrian Osborne is in custody on charges of felony murder and two counts of aggravated assault in the shooting death of Dennis Gayton, 47, who was killed in front of his teenage son, according to Sgt. Kevin Holbrook, Gainesville Police spokesman.
Marquis Lejon Studivant remains on the run, and police have filed charges of felony murder and aggravated assault against him.
Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call 911.
The shooting happened around 10 p.m. near the intersection of Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd and Carlton Street.
Gayton was shot inside his vehicle, and later died at Northeast Georgia Medical Center. His 15-year-old son sustained minor injuries in the incident when the car crashed into a tree as Gayton attempted to flee.
Osborne is being held at the Hall County Jail.
