985 crash claims 2 lives, injures 8

The Georgia State Patrol continues to investigate a 5-vehicle crash on Interstate 985 that killed two people and sent eight others to area hospitals Sunday afternoon
 
The wreck happened about 5:10 p.m. near exit 16 or Mundy Mill Road.
 
"All 5 vehicles were traveling north on I-985 in the left lane. Traffic in front of all vehicles slowed and stopped," state patrol Sgt. A.J. Allen wrote in a news release.
 
The injured parties were in three of the vehicles.
 
Virginia Hiscock, 66, and William Hiscock, 55, both of Whitesburg, died in the collision.  Virginia was driving the 2013 Ford F-150, and William was the front seat passenger.  Back seat passengers, 31, Joshua Gravely and Mary Lancaster, 25, also both of Whitesburg, were taken to Northeast Georgia Medical Center, according to Allen.
 
The driver of a 2004 F-150, William Robinson, 33, of Buford, was taken to the medical center in Gainesville.  His passenger, Emmalee Miles, 8, of Buford, was flown to a Children's Healthcare of Atlanta facility for treatment.
 
Amalia Lara, 35, of Flowery Branch, was driving a 2009 Chevrolet Traverse and was transported to Northeast Georgia Medical Center.  Her three passengers were also take the the medical center.  Allen identified them as Isabel Rodriguez, 19, Genesis Rodriguez, 11, and Heide Rodriguez, 16, all of Flowery Branch.
 
Occupants of the remaining two vehicles, a 2017 GMC Yukon and 2012 Nissan Versa, were not hurt.
 
Allen identified the Yukon occupants as Genevieve Carroll, 51, of Tallahassee, Florida, and her passengers, Aiden Carroll, 12, Anelia Carroll, 20, and Corinna Carroll, 16, also of Tallahassee.
 
The driver of the Versa, Angela Kisebwe, 22, of Gainesville, was traveling alone.
 
"The crash investigation is on-going and details of the cause of this crash, as well as charges, will be released upon completion of the investigation," Allen added.
Traffic snarled on I-985 northbound near exit 16 Sunday afternoon. 2 people died and eight others were injured in a 5-vehicle chain crash.
