An early morning fire in North Hall County heavily damaged a chicken house and killed a number of birds in the process.
Hall County Fire Services Capt. Zachary Brackett said firefighters were called to the burning building on Autry Road around 5:30 Tuesday morning.
He said more than 50-percent of the building was involved in flames when firefighters arrived.
The building held about 15,000 chickens, and he estimated 12,000 birds were destroyed.
There's no word yet on how the fire started,
