Jefferson Police have released the identities of the men killed and the woman injured in a suspected murder-suicide that happened Sunday night at a home on Fairlane Drive.

Thomas Phillip Powers, 46, allegedly shot and killed his son, Phillip Tyler Powers, 26, and wounded his wife, Donna Marie Powers, 45, according to Joe Wirthman, Jefferson Police Chief.

The eldest Powers then turned the gun on himself.

Donna Marie Powers' injury is described as a non-life threatening gun shot wound to her hands.  Police are still unsure of a motive in the case.

She was taken to Athens Regional Medical Center for treatment.

Nobody else was in the home at the time, said Wirthman.

The shooting happened around 10:30 p.m.
