Gainesville assault suspect, subject of man hunt, turns self in

The subject of a manhunt in Gainesville is now in custody, police confirmed Wednesday afternoon.

Dominique Douglas Harris, 53, is accused of pulling a knife and threatening a man Tuesday at Brandon Place Apartments on Christopher Drive, though nobody was injured in the incident, according to Sgt. Kevin Holbrook, Gainesville Police spokesman.

Harris turned himself in to Gainesville Police on Wednesday.

Harris was the subject of a ground and air search of the area throughout the day Tuesday.

He faces charges of aggravated assault and criminal trespass, and as of Wednesday afternoon Harris remained in the Hall County Jail.
