A section of Main Street in Gainesville will be closed during the day Friday as work continues on the city's Midtown Main Street Streetscape project.
The city's Department of Water Resources announced Thursday afternoon that the affected section of the street is between Jesse Jewell Parkway and Parker Street. A marked detour will be in place.
Through traffic on that section of the street will be prohibited from 7:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.
