A 19-year-old man accused of killing his girlfriend's grandparents in Gwinnett County may face the death penalty.
Johnny Rider, along with his girlfriend Cassandra Bjorge, 17, were indicted in the April murders of Wendy and Randall Bjorge, both 63, on Thursday, according to the Gwinnett Daily Post.
District Attorney Danny Porter told the newspaper they are seeking the death penalty against Rider, but cannot seek the death penalty for Bjorge because she is not 18.
The pair reportedly beat and stabbed the elderly couple to death and then continued to be in and out of the Furlong Run home in Lawrenceville for about a week afterwards.
They were arrested after a standoff at a Suwanee apartment April 9.
