MARIETTA, Ga. (AP) — Prosecutors say a man has been sentenced to life in prison after he robbed three different Waffle Houses in suburban Atlanta.

Cobb County District Attorney Vic Reynolds said in a news release Tuesday that 23-year-old Robbin Jetial Haynes used a firearm and large bolt cutters to rob employees and patrons at three separate Waffle House locations within 24 hours.

Haynes was found guilty of armed robbery, aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during the commission on June 23.

Reynolds says Haynes and 25-year-old Otis Lee Barnes got away with $400. One of the robberies occurred in Cobb County and the other two in Gwinnett County.

Barnes was sentenced to 10 years in prison.

Assistant District Attorney Lauryn Perry says Haynes showed "a lack of compassion for his victims."
